Codename cure server hosting12/2/2023 ![]() That being said, Source is a great engine for FPS game. Graphics-wise, the game doesn’t really break any records since it was made using Valve’s Source Engine-the engine used in Half-Life 2-which is over a decade old. Couple that with the unnerving moan/scream of a zombie signaling that a horde is coming your way, along with scratches in the dark and growls that seem to be coming from everywhere, and you’ve got an intense heart-pounding experience. The background music alone can send chills down your spine. The game's sounds, both the background music and sound effects, are also awesome. Not really complaining since it gives the game an eerie, heart-pounding atmosphere which is pretty much the goal of every other post-apocalyptic-survival-horror game out there. ![]() Even adjusting the gamma slider all the way to the end doesn’t really help that much. They, however, lack the initiative to drop supplies or choose the best place to set-up a sentry gun.Īs you can probably see from the screenshots above, most of Codename CURE’s maps are crazy dark. The bots tend to be excellent marksmen and will probably be able to kill almost every zombie that appears. Also, when waiting for other players to join the game, or when playing offline, bots are automatically added to fill the missing slots. Although setting it up requires more brain power than I’m willing to invest in a casual game. The alternative is to use a dedicated server that the devs have so generously provided. Not really that hard to do I know, but I tend to just disconnect from the game when I get tired of the map, which I know sucks for the remaining players who, I assume, are automatically kicked from the game. The problem is that most games on the Join Game list are either full or locked, and the only way to quickly get into the game is to host your own. The lack of a matchmaking system isn’t really an issue since it can be safely called a casual game, without any PVP mode that requires players to be evenly matched. Codename CURE doesn’t have any matchmaking system in play so everything is pretty much just joining the first game you can find. Since the game lacks a tutorial players can just dive right into the action, as long as they can find a game to join that is. ![]()
